Jennings, President and co-owner of the Global
Basketball Association's Huntsville Lasers,
announces the team will be moving before the
start of the GBA's next season.Jennings
listed Birmingham as one of four possible cities
under consideration. Florence (AL), Chattanooga
(TN) and Jackson (MS) are also candidates.
The Lasers have been unable to work out a
suitable lease agreement with the 10,000-seat
Von Braun Civic Center.
The Lasers were 33-31 and were eliminated in
the first round of playoffs by the eventual GBA
champion Music City.
The GBA is a minor league that was started in
1991 with eleven teams located primarily in the
Southeast. |
